The
Dragons The Riverboat Gamblers Broadzilla Hailing from San Diego, The Dragons are touring behind their recently released long player Sin Salvation, (Gearhead Records). Their label calls 'em garage rock, but the band actually shares way more in common with bands like Motorhead and their disciples. They also have a rep for having one of the best live shows on the road right now. Riverboat Gamblers: The Dragons labelmates from Austin, TX who come on like the shit kickin' AC/DC and Heartbreakers lovers that they are. Not unlike the Hives, but distinctly American Broadzilla: Motown masters of metal and hard rock. These rip roaring ladies bring you rock n' roll the old fashioned way; by kicking your ass! |

The
Paybacks Supagroup The Star Spangle Back from a tour of the US with the Datsuns and a run in Spain with The Hentchmen and The Detroit Cobras, the Paybacks are ready to rock Detroit. Here's a section of a great review from the Chicago Tribune: Firing off rounds of chugging power rock blended with soaring pop hooks, the band played with veteran confidence, ratcheting up the tempting emotions of songs from their debut album "Knock Loud." During their 40-minute set, the Paybacks knew just how long to chew on a single riff, patiently hold it steady until it could no longer be suppressed, then spit it out with double-time arpeggio undercurrents. Supagroup: One of the mightiest bands in the world right now. If you were at their last Lager show, you'll be back, if you weren't, these kids from New Orleans rock like a hyper-charged combination of AC/DC and Kiss. The Star Spangles: Tour mates of the Paybacks and the Datsuns, we wanted to bring them to Detroit so everybody can get a load of how great they are. Think charmingly punk NYC lads that sound like a dead ringer for late 70‚s/early 80‚s UK stuff like Stiff Little Fingers, Gen X, et al. |

The
deadly snakes The Come Ons There are folks who will say the Deadly Snakes are the best touring band in the world right now, and I'm not going to say they're wrong (We'll call it a tie). Either way their Stax horns on top of garage punk maelstrom is, without a doubt, amazing. Don't miss this rare chance to see these marvels of rock. The Come Ons: Sweet and sexy home town soul purveyors make their long over due return to the Lager. Mixing influence from honey voiced 60's R&B and mixing it up with bits and pieces of latter day funk, this trio always, brings a groove to the party. Get a taste now while you wait for their new record. |

HEMIGOD The Bombpops Margaret & Danny Dollrod BENEFIT SHOW FOR THE LIFE CENTER! Remember Grunge? Hemigod does, and they keep at it. Hard-rock heavy hitters, crunchy guitar riffage; long, flowing locks; powerful rhythm and soaring, melodic songs that suggest that rock'n'roll is a far cry from dead, baby! If they're Detroit's answer to Alice in Chains, then Detroit's a lot more attractive than Seattle. The Bombpops: Long time Detroit rockers blend a love for 70's punk and glam into a hook filled rock set fronted by a powerful female vocalist. Yeah! Margaret and Danny Dollrod: Solo or together, Margaret and Danny bring a somewhat surprising mix of blues and folk influences to the table for uncompromisingly great shows. There's food at this one too, so how can you beat that, plus it's a benefit people. Let's go!! |

kitty Once a month Corey & Virgina mix up some mean cocktails to go along with the jams on the hi-fi. Plenty of goodness for both your ears and your belly. Apparently Bad Kitty sees pink elephants this time around. Not sure what that means, but it sounds like a party to me! |

the
cyril lords The Mistreaters It's no longer a secret in Detroit what the ultra breathtaking Mayuko, spastic guitar god Mother and Vox-smashing Ellwood are capable of. Watching Mayuko beat the piss out of her drums like Moonie reincarnated as a 90-pound Japanese girl is alone worth the price of admission, but don't be fooled. This is no joke rock 'n' roll; not to be missed if you know what's good for you! |

the
detroit city council Paperbacks Mr. Airplane Man Mr. T. Jackson Potter (of Bantam Rooster/Dirtbombs fame) unleashes all those funky demons he's had pent up inside his tight white pants for years. Soul meets garage meets funk meets an unabashed dance party. It's an Ass Strugle but somebody's got to do it. Paperbacks: Windy city punk meets motor city aggression in these foxy veterans of rock. It‚s been a while since they've torn up the Lager House but make sure not too miss them playing songs from their new release on Ann Arbor's Flying Bomb! Mr. Airplane Man: These two ladies tear up the idea of the two piece band hype and throw it out the ever loving window! Full on, sped up blues riffs and heavy pounding on the skins. A crowd fave last time they played. |
